The company, operating as “Dethleffs Wohnauto,” first started production of caravans in 1936, though it would be almost another fifty years before production of motorhomes began.

That means they have had over three quarters of a century to get it right; and get it right they have.

Their aim is to have their engineering unmatched, their innovation unmatched and their design unmatched.

Since they held the top position in leisure vehicle manufacturing by dint of being the first, they have constantly striven to maintain that position ever since; and their array of awards from the various trade magazines is testament to their success in this endeavour.
