Elddis is another name synonymous with the British motorhome industry. They’ve been operating in the marketplace since 1964 and have grown to become a dominant force in the British leisure vehicle market.
Despite their strong growth and expansion, Elddis have remained true to their roots and Elddis caravans and motorhomes are still built in Consett, County Durham, not a stone’s throw from the original Elddis factory at Delves Lane.
They have also stayed close to their winning formula, while at the same time remaining open to new innovations that would enhance the holidaying experience of their customers. As a result of this they have received numerous accolades from the periodicals such as Practical Motorhome and Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly.
Like many independent brands, Elddis and the wider Explorer Group have been taken over by Erwin Hymer Group.
Erwin Hymer have quite a long list of brands under their umbrella but most of them are high end luxury brands. Having Elddis, Buccaneer, Xplore and Compass in their portfolio gives them instant access to a large part of the motorhome and caravan market in the UK. At the time of the takeover the Explorer Group already had roughly 17% of the UK market.
