Compass have been a big name in British caravans and motorhomes for decades. Their success led them, in 1998, to become part of the Explorer Group, alongside other big names Elddis and Buccaneer.
Produced in the north of England, Compass have always been fiercely proud of their heritage as a British company. Entering the Explorer Group, however, led to production of the brand being shifted, but fortunately only as far as County Durham – keeping Compass a home-grown, British, product.
In 2009, The Explorer Group remarketed their brand, changing their name simply to Elddis and continuing production under that name.
So, though you may not see any new motorhomes emerging under the Compass name for quite few years, the brand has recently made a revival, As of 2019 Elddis / Explorer has started to produce a brand new up to date range of motorhomes under the Compass brand.
